Pay Details:

• Regular Hourly Pay (8 hrs): $45.00/hr
• Overtime Hourly Pay (4 hrs): $67.50/hr
• Estimated Pay per Shift: $630.00

Job Description:

Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a Per Diem night shift assignment in our Pharmacy Department. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications for patients while maintaining compliance with hospital and state regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications to patients and nursing units.
• Maintain accurate medication inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations under supervision.
• Operate automated dispensing systems and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Verify and label medications according to safety and regulatory standards.
• Manage controlled substance inventory and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and nursing staff to ensure timely delivery of medications.
• Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy regulations and hospital policies.

Requirements:

• Active California Pharmacy Technician License (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent ; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital pharmacy experience (acute care experience strongly preferred).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on night shifts and handle multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with Pyxis , Epic , or other hospital pharmacy systems preferred.
