  JOB SUMMARY

Salvage Yard Technicians must provide safe proficiency and expertise with the use of cutting torches, welders, hand/air tools and basic power tools including grinders, drills, drill presses, cut off saws, and other various tools of the trade to disassemble salvage wrecked units. In addition, The salvage yard tech must be able to safely operate a fork lift, and various other lifts, hoists, jacks, and other equipment to safely complete the jobs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Trained to use all tools of trade safely and effectively.
2. Use previous and on the job training to safely dismantle salvage units ensuring quality parts are still in a condition to refurbish and/or resale.
3. He/she will learn to determine usability of all component parts and must be able disassemble the parts safely and carefully.
4. Must be able to complete work accurately and timely.
5. Ability to perform all aspects of the job safely and in accordance with OSHA and Bruckner’s rules and regulations expressed and implied.
6. Understands the importance of attendance and punctuality and how it directly impacts customer service.
7. Is a good steward of company tools and resources.
8. Achieves and maintains certifications as required by the company, the OEM’s or by Federal Law.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

1. High School Diploma or GED desired.
2. Must possess and use good interpersonal skills to interact well with co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.
3. Must be able to read and write in English and understand computer generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.

Physical Demands:

1. Involves essential ability to maneuver around, in, on and under trucks to properly inspect and disassemble safely and efficiently.
2. Must be able to pass a physical and drug and alcohol screens during pre-employment screening, randomly and/or as requested throughout employment.
3. Must be able to lift 50 pounds to the waist and 25 pounds to the shoulder.
