We are seeking a skilled and experienced HPLC Chemist to join our Quality Control team. The ideal candidate will perform analytical testing for raw materials and finished products, providing support for all Quality Control activities as well as method development. The role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in performing multiple methods accurately and precisely without direct supervision. The candidate should be proficient in setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and training others to use HPLC, Atomic Absorption, and ICP instruments, and have demonstrated Good Laboratory Practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
  • Perform, lead, and schedule routine HPLC or other chemistry analysis of in-process, finished product, or raw material according to established specifications and procedures using various laboratory apparatus.
  • Maintain lab notebook and assigned work areas in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Participate in laboratory data reporting and creation and release of certificates of analysis (COA).
  • Assist in the preparation of samples and paperwork for in-house and third-party testing.
  • Perform technical review of test results for completeness and compliance to cGMPs to ensure excellent documentation, controls, and traceability.
  • Train lab technicians and lab assistants in their duties and tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with lab technicians and lab assistants in their assigned tests and tasks.
  • Supervise and/or perform OOS investigations and other QC-related investigations.
  • Enter data into Process Pro Inventory Control System.
  • Perform instrument troubleshooting and maintenance as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration of laboratory and facility equipment.
  • Author SOPs and Protocol documents and participate in Change Control of documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory of reagents and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS in Chemistry with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
  • Good math and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email).
  • Punctuality and the ability to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Basic understanding of cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Demonstrated understanding of chemistry and analytical techniques used in test methods and analytical equipment.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of Analytical Method Validation is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Normal dexterity for QC analytical laboratory tasks, such as pouring liquids, handling glassware, working with chemicals, and processing data.
